Hi to all my future readers...

I have been wanting to start a blog for some time now, but did not have the time.  Due to circumstances in my life, I have found the time now and am excited to start blogging.  Often times, I hear blogs in my head and am curious to see how they turn out on paper.  (Well, technically in print).  So...here it goes.

My passion in life is promoting cancer awareness and giving my talents for the promotion of cancer research.  I participate yearly in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, The Relay for Life, and more recently have helped with fund raising for Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research.  I started making these cancer awareness ribbons and with the encouragement of my family, I started my Etsy shop  http://www.etsy.com/shop/crafts4acause this summer.  I am hoping to enjoy crafting (a longtime love, thanks to my mom) and to raise money for a cause that I very passionate about.  Cancer

We all know someone who has been affected by cancer.  I honor my grandma,  my aunts, my boyfriend's mom, my cousins.  I grieve for my dear grandpa who lost his battle.  Friends of Suzanne is a local charity that my family and I work with in honor of those in our family (and friends) affected by cancer.

20% of all proceeds from my Etsy site are going to Friends of Suzanne, a non-profit charity helping those afflicted with cancer whose goals are to "support those facing a cancer diagnosis today, while bringing increased awareness to the community on the challenges, struggles and hardships that come with that diagnosis."  Since inception they have raised over $25,000 which will be used by patients to offset medical expenses, loss of income and help each patient maintain the same quality of life, they knew prior to their diagnosis
